Pierre Chenard brings over four decades of leadership in corporate development, strategy, and law at some of the industry’s largest companies. As an advisor, he brings Terra AI a global perspective on how mining companies evaluate, structure, and execute major transactions and partnerships.

Pierre is currently Chief Executive Officer of Manara Minerals Investment Company and serves as a non-executive director on the boards of two Toronto Stock Exchange-listed companies, Allied Gold Corporation and G Mining Ventures Corp. He joined Manara after a stint as Executive Director and Head of Strategy at Allied Gold from 2021 to 2023, a period that included the company’s TSX listing. Before that, he spent two years as Executive Vice President, Corporate Development & Strategy at AngloGold Ashanti. His earlier roles include 11 years at Rio Tinto Alcan as Senior Vice President of Business Development and General Counsel, seven years at Alcan in senior legal positions including Deputy Chief Legal Officer, and a term as Vice President, Corporate Development and General Counsel at Cambior.

Pierre has worked on acquisitions, divestments, project finance, and joint ventures in more than 40 countries since 1988, giving him a broad lens on how deals get structured and closed across the sector. He earned Civil and Common Law degrees from McGill University and has been a member of the Quebec Bar since 1984.
